On Thursday, September 12th, the remaining villages of Hatteras Island re-opened to visitors, which means that all of Dare County's Outer Banks' towns and villages are once again welcoming guests (Duck, Southern Shores, Kitty Hawk, Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head, Manteo, Wanchese, Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, Avon, Buxton, Frisco and Hatteras).

Fall is a special time on the Outer Banks, and we look forward to seeing you!

If you have a planned visit, please contact your lodging provider before traveling just to confirm accommodations as some homes were affected by the storm. Thank you for your patience and concern.

Life on the Edge

The OBX is a 130-mile stretch of barrier islands just off the coast of North Carolina. Made up of quaint towns and sleepy fishing villages, each wonderfully weather worn to a varying degree. Even spanning hundreds of years and despite millions of visitors, each town retains its own individual character
