Terms & Conditions:
The outerbanks.org site is funded by a portion of Dare County occupancy tax and by a portion of Dare County prepared meals tax; therefore, the Visitors Bureau’s focus is on promoting tourism and overnight visitation to Dare County’s Outer Banks.
The website outerbanks.org and its associated landing pages (referred to as outerbanks.org) are owned and administered by the Bureau which at its sole discretion will make determinations as to the appropriateness of content (photos, graphics, listings or otherwise) and whether that content is fit for inclusion on outerbanks.org. The Bureau will not discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, age, sex, or handicap (disability).
The Bureau assumes no liability, implied or otherwise, for a participating Partner’s business results. Partners whose listings are included on the site agree to indemnify the Bureau and hold harmless from any losses the business may or may not experience. Further, the Partner acknowledges that the site may from time to time experience temporary disruptions which could cause the Partner’s listing to be not visible.
The Bureau will administer outerbanks.org to the best of its ability and during normal business hours. Once the Partner account is established, the Partner will have the opportunity to update its own listing information through the Bureau-owned backend database. Partner made changes will be reviewed and pushed live by the Bureau if approved. If denied, the Bureau will contact the Partner and explain why the change was not approved.
The Bureau will strive to keep Partner listings updated should the Partner choose not to utilize the backend database functionality but assumes no liability for inaccurate or outdated information. Upon notification or request of a change, the Bureau will take steps to update the information. Updates do not immediately become visible, but rather occur after a third-party’s hosting service recognizes the change.
The Outer Banks Visitors Bureau reserves the right to update these policies at any time without notice to or needing the approval of the Partner or other applicants.
