Dynamic Variation:

LRTMP Goals, Strategies & Progress

The Outer Banks Long-Range Tourism Management Plan (LRTMP) is a comprehensive roadmap that will allow this community to take a strategic approach to defining its competitive positioning as a destination. It is a critical step in identifying and prioritizing opportunities for enhancements to the resident quality of life and visitor experience that will position the community as a desirable place to live, work and visit, and extend the benefits of the visitor economy throughout the community.

Putting the LRTMP into action will require a lift from our stakeholders and residents. Because this is truly a plan for our entire community, the Dare County Tourism Board and Outer Banks Visitors Bureau looks forward to working collaboratively to implement the recommendations for the benefit of residents and visitors to the Outer Banks for generations to come.

During the creation of the plan, four strategic goals emerged as recommendations to move the LRTMP forward into the future. These strategic goals provide the framework for the actions, partnerships and investments for the long-range consideration of tourism and quality of place.
