There are so many family-friendly events with a wide variety of activities for children and adults. There is everything from Easter egg hunts, live music, incredible food & Easter Specials, art shows and much more. Whether you are looking for family time in the sun, sand and surf, sightseeing and exploring or just looking for some rest and relaxation….the Outer Banks is the place to be. 22nd Annual EGGstravaganza
Head to the Dare County Parks and Recreation annual Easter EGGstravaganza held Saturday, April 6th at Family Recreation Park in Kill Devil Hills from 11:30AM-1:30 PM. Activities include: face painting, egg spoon races, egg toss, sack races, bean bag toss, ring toss, sidewalk decorating and crafts. All FREE! Egg Dashes: 0-3 years old starts at 12:00PM; 4-6 years old starts at 12:15PM; 7-10 years old starts at 12:30PM. Pictures with the Easter bunny from 11:30AM-1:00PM. *If inclement weather, all activities will take place inside the Youth Center.
The largest egg scavenger hunt on the beach with thousands of eggs! Egg spoon races, hat contest, musical acts, dancers, special visit from Sir Walter “Peter” Wabbit, make and take crafts, egg roll race, find special prize eggs to win: prizes, gift certificates, stuffed animals and more! Please bring your own Easter Basket for collecting eggs and prizes. The Gardens will open at 10am on this day for the Eggstravaganza. Members/Friends: Free. The Kite Festival will take place Friday & Saturday from 10am-4pm at Jockey’s Ridge State Park. Enjoy fresh spring air, high flying kites, and an all around good time. The EGGstravaganza will take place at Jockey’s Ridge Crossing, right across the street from the dunes. On Friday and Saturday there will be Easter Egg Hunts throughout Jockey's Ridge Crossing starting at 11AM. Hunts will be broken down by age groups: 3 & under, 4-6, and 7-12. Please remember to bring an Easter Basket and stick around to get your picture taken with the Easter Bunny from 12:00-1:00pm. ADMISSION IS FREE!
