Hatteras Lighthouse

Hidden treasures and wide beaches await you and your family on Hatteras Island.

Experience the Island Charm of Cape Hatteras and its National Seashore. At the southernmost part of the Outer Banks, you'll find Cape Hatteras, its National Seashore, and its many villages. This area is known for spectacular watersports, the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, the iconic Cape Point, the first-ever lifesaving station and the moniker The Graveyard of the Atlantic.

Hatteras Island is comprised of seven, non-commercialized villages: Rodanthe, Waves and Salvo, also known as the "tri-villages"; followed by Avon, Buxton, Frisco and Hatteras Village. All of these villages host numerous vacation homes, from condos for two to larger OBX rentals offering ocean or sound views, and sometimes both.

Beginning at Whalebone Junction in Nags Head, the Outer Banks National Scenic Byway, or HWY 12 South, offers travelers heading to Cape Hatteras miles of unsurpassed beauty and undeveloped landscape. Along this southern artery, the Atlantic Ocean flanks the road to the east while the Pamlico Sound nestles the road to the west. This drive is stunning year-round and really shows the natural beauty and landscape that the Outer Banks has to offer.

Hatteras Island is a true vacationers dream, featuring gorgeous wide beaches, characteristic high dunes, sparkling blue waters, rich fishing opportunities and world-renowned kiteboarding and windsurfing spots. Visitors seek out the tranquility, unique culture, and wave-riding currents of Hatteras Island year-round.

Sun Realty is proud to represent vacation homes on Hatteras Island and the properties offered by Sun Realty range from cozy condominiums and classic, OBX rentals to large, expansive luxury homes.
