International symposium, historic tours, exhibits
A group of 13 distinguished British and US speakers will convene at the US Fish and Wildlife facility on Roanoke Island to conduct a free public symposium concentrating on recent advances in information about the Roanoke colony of 1584 and the fate of the 1587 lost colony
From archaeology to maps to New World shopping lists to frauds and fables all will be presented and discussed in an instructional yet easy to follow and enjoyable interactive format.
In addition to the presentations at the primary venue, the following extras will be offered: air tours to Site X (ticketed), boat tours (ticketed), walking tours to ongoing archeological digs, film, costume displays, artisanal offerings, and opportunities speak with the presenters at informal settings.
