Outer Banks Official Travel Guide Open To Submitted Photos
Outer Banks Visitors Bureau looking to share great local photography with America.

The Outer Banks Visitors Bureau recognizes that there are some wonderful amateur and professional photographers out there who share a common love for the Outer Banks of North Carolina, and this year we are trying something completely new that could involve you!

Planning is underway for the 2010 Outer Banks Official Travel Guide.  We will publish and produce 475,000 copies of this primary marketing fulfillment piece and direct mail to people all over the world who request our free Guide through the internet, email, print magazines or phone calls to our offices.  Also, we distribute our Guide to the public at welcome centers in the mid-Atlantic region and AAA offices across the country, as well as local businesses on the Outer Banks.

We are opening our Guide to publicly submitted photos that could include anything from great scenic landscapes, community events on the Outer Banks, to great family photos or weddings on the beach.  Who knows, you may even have the prized cover shot in your portfolio right now.  Everyone whose photos are used in our 2010 Official Travel Guide will get a photo credit on a special page in our Guide.  We also have an online version of our Official Travel Guide that we call the eGuide, which is available to download to your desktop.  The imagery will also appear there.

The Outer Banks Official Travel Guide is a high-quality glossy booklet, printed in full color on recycled paper with environmentally friendly ink.  It is designed to be the all inclusive first reference resource to planning a vacation or getaway to the Dare County Outer Banks, and has information on all the attractions, accommodations and tourism related businesses in the county, including a year long calendar of events.

Whether you are a seasoned pro, just starting out, or just have an eye for great pictures, this is a great way to add some kudos to your list of accolades.  If you would like more information, email photos@outerbanks.org or simply download our photo submission and digital photography requirements form (Adobe Reader Required) summary to get started.  We think this will be a fun and rewarding way to reflect the great Outer Banks community in the Outer Banks Official Travel Guide and on the web.  The deadline for photo submission is August 31, 2009

The Outer Banks Visitors Bureau, a public authority, is the lead marketing and promotional agency for The Outer Banks of North Carolina® and is funded by 1% occupancy and 1% prepared meals tax, collected in Dare County.
