OBX Celebrates Independence Day

Join in the fun this Fourth of July.

Firework displays are scheduled for:

  • Town of Kill Devil Hills at dusk on the Avalon Fishing Pier, 2111 Virginia Dare Trail, Mile Post 6 on the beach road. Rain Date: Sunday, July 5th. Click Here
  • Town of Nags Head at 9:25 p.m. on the Nags Head Fishing Pier located at Mile Post 11.5 on S. Virginia Dare Trail in Nags Head.  Click Here
  • Fireworks over the Roanoke Sound presented by Town of Manteo. Click Here

  • JULY 4TH CELEBRATION - WITH MUSIC AND FIREWORKSJoin us at Roanoke Island Festival Park from 8:00pm – 10:00pm for fireworks and patriotic music from the Second Marine Aircraft Wing Band; Gates open at 6:00pm and the Fireworks begin at dark. About the Second Marine Aircraft Wing Band: Military history has established empirically that musical units are an integral part of the military. The Second Marine Aircraft Wing Band, stationed at MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina, continues this fine tradition by representing one of the finest organizations in musical excellence. This ensemble of Marine musicians completes over 150 commitments annually and travels in excess of 30,000 miles. Throughout their travels, they uphold the old and honored Marine traditions of pride, professionalism, and esprit de corps. Consisting of 51 Marine Musicians, the 2nd MAW Band is a highly trained and versatile musical organization. The band is capable of performing in a multitude of settings, ranging from its primary mission is as a ceremonial unit, to other ensembles such as the Concert Band, Jazz Band or Big Band, Show Band, Jazz Combo, Brass Quintet, Woodwind Quintet and Woodwind Duo. More Info

  • TOWN OF MANTEO 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION. Celebrate Independence Day with small town flair at the Town of Manteo 4th of July celebration. Participate in wacky hat contest, decorated bike contest, apple pie contest and so much more. Then after the sun goes down take in one of the best firework shows on the Outer Banks. More Info.
