Albemarle Green Building Seminar and Expo

The Face on the Barroom Floor
Theatre of Dare, your community theatre for the Outer Banks, presents the farce melodrama The Face on the Barroom Floor. Insidious villains endeavor to separate Madelaine Mockingbird, chambermaid turned singer, from the fortune left her by an old miner and from her true love: Jack Goodhart, painter turned tramp. Full of hilarious sight gags, zany action, and some really terrible (and very funny) jokes. Performances are Friday & Saturday at 7:30pm, Sunday at 2:00pm, at the COA Roanoke Island Campus in Manteo. Pillaging and Plunder in the Galley
Pamlico Jack's Pirate Hideaway. 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. A 3-hour progressive cooking class including hands-on instruction/participation and eating the day's lesson. "Cooks" will learn to identify good shellfish, cooking techniques and accompaniments. Class agenda includes oysters, crabs, clams, mussels and lobster. Kelly's 2nd Annual Running of the Leprechauns 8K
Nags Head. 9 a.m. A truly GREEN event! Runners and Walkers embark on a 8k/5 mile point to point course including road and trail (through part of the Nags Head Woods Conservancy) for a share of Kelly's "pot of gold", GREEN GLORY, and fun! RIFP Performance Series - UNC- Pembroke Presents Steel Magnolias
2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Indoor Theatre at Roanoke Island Festival Park. The performances will be held on Saturday, March 13, at 2 and 7 p.m. in the Indoor Theatre as part of the RIFP Performance Series. It is free and open to the public. The University Theatre of The University of North Carolina at Pembroke is part of the English and Theatre Department. A faculty of five and a staff of two support their small program of approximately 20 theatre majors at any onetime. As a small, liberal arts program, students participate in many different phases of theatre production, from costume, scenic and lighting design to technical theatre as well as acting, directing and house management. The primary theatre is the main stage of the modern Givens Performing Arts Center, a 1600 seat facility with up to date theatre technology. The department produces two plays and one musical each year as well as smaller shows which students direct. Some recent productions have included: The Laramie Project, Macbeth, You Can’t Take It with You, The Dining Room, Once upon a Mattress and Guys and Dolls. Kelly's 21st Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade
Virginia Dare Trail/The Beach Road, MP 11.5 - 10.5, Nags Head. 1 p.m. Rain or Shine. The largest St. Patrick's Day Parade in North Carolina travels the GREENEST mile in the Tarheel state. Americana "Home Town Beach" parade IRISH Style.
