The Lost Colony Outdoor Drama
America’s #1 outdoor drama is the perfect pinnacle to your Outer Banks experience! See this compelling unsolved mystery of America’s beginnings and other productions at Waterside Theatre in Manteo on Roanoke Island. Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paul Green’s The Lost Colony tells the story of the events leading to the disappearance of the English colonists who settled here over 400 years ago. The production features music, dance, drama, riveting action, and special effects with lavish costumes and sets designed by five-time Tony Award-winner William Ivey Long.

May 28 - August 20 at 8 p.m. (Monday - Saturday). Children’s theatre, Broadway musicals, and other events also highlight the season.

Senior (62 and above): $19
Groups (20 or more): $18
Children (11 and under): $12 (Children 11 and under are free on Monday and Friday and half price on Saturday with a paying adult).

Pre-show Backstage Tours are available on performance nights at 7 p.m., reservations required. Backstage Tour tickets are $7.00 and are available through the box office at (252) 473-3414.

Theatre of Dare is your community theatre for the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Founded in 1991, Theatre of Dare is a non-profit, volunteer group of local friends, family, neighbors & co-workers who share a love of theatre, and a dedication to volunteer and benefit our community. Proceeds from our shows go to annual scholarships for Dare County students. We're so proud of the shows that we put on, and we've got a lot of great stuff coming up! Come out and join us, won't you?
