GOSPL

The Dare County Tourism Board recognizes the natural resources that have attracted citizens and visitors to Dare County and the physical beauty of our coastal environment is Dare County's greatest asset. The GOSPL program is available to all Governmental Municipalities in Dare County as well as the County of Dare. There is no application, rather written proposals are required and must demonstrate applying organizations' ability to meet the GOSPL criteria.

Special Projects Grant

The Special Projects Grant is designed to assist in funding actual Outer Banks related projects. Brochures and conceptual projects such as studies, challenge grants, seed money, etc. will not be considered for funding. Special Project Grant applications must be submitted ninety (90) days prior to the event.

Applying organization must be located in Dare County and be a not-for-profit organization. Current not-for-profit status must accompany application and must be a final determination for the Internal Revenue Service. See below for additional guidelines.

Tourism Assistance Grant (TAG)

The Tourism Assistance Grant (TAG) is designed to assist Dare County based non-profit organizations with the advertising of an event and/or festival. TAG applications must be submitted eight (8) months prior to the event and event organizer must meet with the grants administrator prior to submission. See below for additional guidelines.

(Short Term) Restricted Fund Grant

The (Short Term) Restricted Fund Grant is designed to help Dare County based Municipalities and nonprofit organizations with projects such as highway beautification, beach and sound accesses, or hike/bike walk trails. Grants are disbursed on a 50/50-match basis.

The Outer Banks Visitors Bureau, a public authority, is the lead marketing and promotional agency for The Outer Banks of North Carolina® and is funded by 1% occupancy and 1% prepared meals tax, collected in Dare County.
