Outer Banks Travel Update

Most of the Outer Banks is back to normal following last week's coastal storm that affected much of the mid-Atlantic. However, there is a travel advisory if you are heading to Hatteras Island this weekend. As of right now, traffic is open for all vehicles to Hatteras Island, however there is a one lane segment open just before you enter Rodanthe that may cause delays. Additional access to Hatteras Island and the Rodanthe area can be made using the regular ferry service from Ocracoke Island to the village of Hatteras. The Swan Quarter to Ocracoke Ferry will be running scheduled routes and are now taking reservations once again for this upcoming weekend. If you have any questions regarding your OBX trip this weekend, we encourage you to contact your lodging provider. For NC ferry schedules and other information including the latest travel bulletins, please visit darenc.com. This Outer Banks remains one of the best off season travel values for a completely different beach vacation experience, with some of the most wild and natural beauty in America. If you want to talk with real local folks about planning your next Outer Banks vacation or weekend, give us a call toll free at 877-629-4386.
